What is Hacienda El Sueño?

Hacienda El Sueño sets a new standard for resort living in Mijas: an exclusive residential community between Marbella and Málaga. Of the original 139 homes, just 8 are still available, a rare opportunity to own a luxury apartment in one of the most sought-after spots on the Costa del Sol.

The apartments

You can choose from beautifully designed two and three-bedroom apartments with contemporary architecture, bright open-plan living spaces, premium finishes and generous private terraces. The kitchen comes fully fitted, air conditioning is pre-installed, and the apartments are either furnished or available with furniture as an option. From the resort, you look out over the sea, the mountains and the lagoon.

Resort amenities

Residents enjoy an exceptional range of facilities: a heated swimming pool with a children's pool, a lagoon beach, a spa area with sauna and jacuzzi, a fully equipped gym, an on-site restaurant and bar, a concierge service and reception, landscaped gardens, 24-hour security and a secure underground car park with a private storage room. Prices and payment in October 2026

As of 26 October 2026, the last apartments at Hacienda El Sueño are on our books at €352,000 to €438,000. With a new build you pay 10% VAT and 1.2% stamp duty (AJD) on top of the price, plus notary, land registry and legal fees. On buying costs you can work out the total for your own situation.

You pay €10,000 on reservation, 30% when you sign the purchase contract and the remaining 70% on signing the title deed. As the apartments are ready to move into, everything can go through quickly.

The location

Hacienda El Sueño is in Mijas, just minutes from golf courses, beaches, La Cala de Mijas, Fuengirola and Marbella. Shops, schools and a marina are close by, and Málaga airport is easy to reach. It makes a great base for exploring the whole coast.

Living in Mijas

Mijas is one of the largest municipalities on the Costa del Sol and has three distinct sides. High in the hills sits Mijas Pueblo, a white Andalusian mountain village with narrow streets and views far out to sea. Along the coast stretches Mijas Costa, with La Cala, Riviera del Sol, Calahonda and El Chaparral: long sandy beaches, a seafront promenade and plenty of restaurants. Inland lies Las Lagunas, a lively residential centre with shops, schools and sports facilities, right next to Fuengirola.

Mijas is also a true golfing municipality, home to La Cala Resort, Mijas Golf and Calanova Golf, among others. Málaga airport is around twenty to thirty minutes' drive away, Fuengirola and Marbella are close by, and the A-7 and AP-7 connect you quickly to the whole coast. That is why Mijas is so popular with families who live here all year round, with retirees and with second-home buyers.

Buying off-plan: how it works

With a new build, you first sign a reservation agreement, then a purchase contract with a deposit, and you pay the balance on completion at the notary. Under Spanish law, deposits on new builds must be protected by a bank guarantee or an insurance policy. Always have this checked, along with the building licence and the timeline.
