What is Atalaya?
Atalaya is a residential area at the point where Estepona, Benahavís and Marbella meet. It revolves around Atalaya Golf & Country Club, which according to andalucia.com opened to the public in 1967 and has two courses: the Old Course (par 72) and the shorter, more technical New Course. The club is about 700 metres from the coast road, on the road to Benahavís, by the Guadalmina river.
According to Grupo Ibercosta, Puerto Banús is about 10 minutes away, the Estepona hospital a few minutes, and other schools are 10 to 15 minutes away by car. The area also has an international school. The supply consists of apartments, penthouses and villas.
Municipality and boundaries
Atalaya is not an officially delimited neighbourhood. Part of it falls under Estepona, part under Benahavís. Have it checked per property in the nota simple and with the town hall which municipality it falls under: that determines, among other things, the IBI and the plusvalía.
