Los Flamingos sits on the rolling hills just above the coast, straddling the boundary between Benahavís and Estepona. Its centrepiece is the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace, a neoclassical five-star resort, surrounded by the three courses of Villa Padierna Golf Club. Around those fairways you will find modern apartment complexes, penthouses, townhouses and detached villas, nearly all in gated developments with gardens and pools. Many homes look over the golf to the sea and, on a clear day, to Gibraltar and Africa.
Golf, resort and daily life
Flamingos Golf opened in 2001 and has hosted European Senior Tour and Ladies European Tour events. Alferini is the demanding course for experienced players, while Tramores is shorter, more forgiving and home to the golf academy. The resort adds a spa and a racquet club with padel and tennis courts, so non-golfers have plenty to do as well. For shopping, schools and restaurants you drive down to the coast: Cancelada, the New Golden Mile and San Pedro de Alcántara are minutes away. Atalaya Colegio Internacional is close by, and Puerto Banús is roughly twenty minutes by car.

Orientation matters too: south-facing terraces get sun all year, whereas homes tucked into a dip lose the winter sun earlier in the afternoon.
