Apartments in Torremolinos: which neighbourhood?
Torremolinos is the Costa del Sol's classic resort: urban, busy, open all year and right next to the airport. That makes it one of the most sought-after places for letting and for anyone who flies back and forth often. La Carihuela, the old fishing quarter, is the favourite: a promenade lined with seafood restaurants, the beach on the doorstep and apartments with sea views. Playamar, on the east side, offers large developments with gardens and pools close to the beach.
The centre, around Calle San Miguel, is the hub of shopping and nightlife, with the train station close by. If you want calm and sea views, look at Montemar and El Pinillo on the hills towards Benalmádena, or La Colina, a little higher and slightly more affordable. Los Álamos, on the eastern edge, is up and coming, with newer complexes close to the beach.
Prices
Idealista recorded an average asking price of €4,199 per m² in Torremolinos in September 2026, up 7.1% on a year earlier. On average €500,000 buys around 120 m²: a two or three-bedroom apartment. Frontline La Carihuela is clearly higher, while La Colina and parts of the centre offer more space for your money. Most apartments are resale; new builds are mainly in El Pinillo, Los Álamos and Montemar.
What to check
With older buildings from the 1960s and 1970s, technical condition is crucial: ask about works, the lift, the facade and community fees. Visit in the evening to judge noise, especially in the centre, and check whether the apartment is under an airport approach path. Torremolinos is strong for letting, but short lets require a licence and the community's consent; long-term rentals are in demand all year.
