Who is it for?

Is Torreblanca right for you?

Ideal if you

  • want sea views without living far from the beach
  • like taking the train to Málaga and the airport
  • want to live year round in a calm, leafy neighbourhood
  • are after a villa with a garden for far less than on the Golden Mile

Less suitable if you

  • dislike steep streets (look at Los Boliches instead)
  • want restaurants and shops right on your doorstep
  • want a golf course next to your home (consider Mijas Golf or Torrequebrada)

Living in Torreblanca

Torreblanca climbs the hill on the eastern edge of Fuengirola, above the railway and the coast road. Where central Fuengirola feels busy and urban, life here is noticeably quieter. You live among older villas with generous gardens, low-rise apartment blocks and newer homes built into the slope in recent years. Many properties look straight out over the bay of Fuengirola.

The mix is broad: Spanish families, Scandinavians who have known Fuengirola for decades and northern Europeans living here all year. It is a residential district rather than a resort, and you notice that outside the summer months.

The district really has two faces. The lower streets, mostly apartments, keep you close to the station, the promenade and the bus stop. Further up it becomes villa territory, with larger plots, more privacy and the widest views across the bay.

Beach, train and daily life

At the foot of the hill lies Torreblanca beach, with the promenade leading on foot to Los Boliches and the town centre. Torreblanca station sits on the lower slope, so the Cercanías commuter train takes you to Málaga or the airport without a car. By road the airport is roughly 25 minutes away.

A rare detail: the district has its own Roman baths, dating from the 2nd to 6th centuries, with the remains of a fish-salting works and a necropolis. The site has been protected heritage since 2005 and opens to visitors on set days.

Homes and prices

According to idealista, the average asking price in Torreblanca del Sol was around €3,580 per m² in September 2026, below the Fuengirola average of €4,452. That often buys you more space and more view than down on the seafront. Apartments with a sea-view terrace are the most sought after, while villas with gardens come up less often.

What to check

Streets are steep and not every home has its own parking, so check access and parking carefully. Higher up you get the best views, but you will drive for almost everything. If you plan holiday lets, Andalusia requires a tourist licence and the community of owners can block new holiday rentals.
