Houses in an apartment town

Fuengirola is densely built and above all a town of apartments. A house with a garden is therefore scarce here, which is exactly what makes it sought after. Most houses and villas are on the hills at the edge of town. Torreblanca and Carvajal, towards Benalmádena, offer townhouses and villas with views over the sea and town, with their own train stop and beach nearby. Los Pacos and El Coto, on the west side, combine peace with quick access to the centre.

If you want more space and a detached villa, you will often look just over the municipal boundary: to Mijas, with Valtocado and El Chaparral, or to Benalmádena. From there, everything in Fuengirola is within ten minutes.

Idealista recorded an average asking price of €4,452 per m² in Fuengirola in September 2026, up 1.1% on a year earlier. Because houses are scarce, their prices per m² are often above average, especially with sea views. Townhouses in Torreblanca or Los Pacos are the most accessible way to live in Fuengirola with a garden or terrace. New builds are limited to a few hillside projects.

With hillside houses, watch for steep streets, steps and parking, especially as you get older. Have the legality of extensions and the condition of roof and installations checked, and ask about the urbanisation fees.

Who is a house in Fuengirola ideal for?

For families and year-round residents, with schools such as St Anthony's College and the Swedish and Finnish schools in town and the airport about half an hour away. Less suitable if you want lots of land, total silence or a villa on a large plot.
