About Helvet Green

If you buy at Helvet Green, you need patience. Completion is planned for March 2029, and another source states that construction would only start in the second quarter of 2027. In return you get a price you rarely see in Mijas any more: a new one-bedroom apartment for €269,000, next to the Mijas Golf course. The project has 103 homes, split between apartments, ground-floor apartments and penthouses with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms.

Our data lists eight homes. The two one-bedroom apartments cost €269,000 each: on the ground floor you get 71 m² and a 20 m² terrace, on the second floor 56 m² with a 4 m² balcony. With 2 bedrooms you pay €370,000 for 90 m² on the ground floor with a small private garden, or €399,000 for 86 m² on the first floor. A 2-bedroom penthouse with an 83 m² terrace costs €599,000. The largest penthouse has 3 bedrooms and is listed at €1,025,000.

Around the buildings there will be a central pool with sun terraces and landscaped gardens, a children's play area and green zones with walking paths. Indoors there is a gym, a sauna and a communal lounge. The complex is gated, with a lift and one parking space per home. It is set next to Mijas Golf, about 300 metres from the course, with the beaches of Mijas and Fuengirola a 10-minute drive away.

Location

Mijas Golf is a green residential area inland from Fuengirola, around two 18-hole golf courses. You live among the greens, villas and apartment complexes, with the Mijas mountains behind you and the coast a few kilometres away. Sun, light and views

Here the sun rises at 7:00 on 21 June and sets at 21:40, giving 14.7 hours of daylight. On 21 December you still have 9.7 hours, with the midday sun at 30° above the horizon. Helvet Green sits at around 26 metres above sea level.

Sea views are not confirmed for any home in our data. Another source mentions views of the golf course, the mountains and the garden, and a south-facing orientation for a 2-bedroom apartment; we check that for each home.

Homes and finishes

The building specification mentions Kömmerling PVC windows with double glazing, motorised shutters in the living room and bedrooms and an armoured front door. The kitchen comes fully fitted, with a quartz worktop, soft-close cabinets and a Bosch induction hob, extractor hood and oven. The tiles are from Porcelanosa, and the air conditioning is zoned with Airzone. The description speaks of energy class A; in our data the one-bedroom homes have an A rating and the others a B rating. We request the final energy certificate for each home.

Payment schedule

As with most new builds on the Costa del Sol, you pay in instalments: a reservation deposit, a portion on signing the purchase contract and during construction, and the balance at the deed signing. Every payment before completion must be covered by a bank guarantee. We will send you the exact payment schedule for Helvet Green through Privé.

Our honest verdict on Helvet Green

Strengths

  • Entry price of €269,000, around €304,028 all in.
  • Price per m² 20% below the new build median for Mijas.
  • Location next to the Mijas Golf course, with Fuengirola centre 9 minutes away.
  • Solid finishes with branded materials, Airzone and motorised shutters.
  • International school St Anthony's College a 6-minute drive away.

Points to consider

  • Completion not until March 2029, and according to another source construction has not yet started.
  • Small terraces with many homes, down to 4 m² with a one-bedroom apartment.
  • No confirmed sea views and the beach 10 minutes away by car.
  • Odd prices in the list: a 3-bedroom on the first floor costs the same as a 2-bedroom.
  • Large complex of 103 homes, so not a small-scale project.

Who is Helvet Green right for?

Helvet Green suits golfers, first-time buyers on the Spanish market and anyone looking for a first second home on a limited budget. The location also makes sense for letting to golfing guests. It is less suitable for those who want to enjoy their home soon, who are looking for sea views or a large terrace, or who want to live without a car.

Why buy through Imagine Marbella?

With us you pay exactly the same price as buying direct from the developer. Our fee is paid by the seller, not by you. What you get on top is what makes the difference.

  • Independent. We are not tied to any development. We compare the entire market and tell you honestly when a project is not right for you.
  • Stronger at the negotiating table. Whenever there is room to negotiate, on price, payment schedule, finishes or a parking space, we know the market, the sales figures and the developers. We defend your interests; the seller defends theirs.
  • Free extra services. We check licences, bank guarantees and specifications, provide legal support in your own language and plan viewings around your travel dates.
  • Beyond the handover. We follow the construction, the handover and the after-sales with you, so you are never on your own.

Off market: what you will not find online

Not every property on the Costa del Sol ends up on a website.

Owners who want to sell discreetly, a last penthouse that has not yet been released, a villa that only comes onto the market when the right buyer appears: part of the market changes hands without a single advert. Frequently asked questions about Helvet Green

Is there new build for sale on the Costa del Sol under €300,000?

Yes, but supply is limited. At Helvet Green a one-bedroom apartment costs €269,000. With VAT, stamp duty, notary and lawyer you come to around €304,028, just over that threshold.

When will Helvet Green be completed?

Completion is planned for March 2029. Another source mentions construction starting in the second quarter of 2027. We check that every payment is covered by a bank guarantee and that the purchase agreement includes a final completion date.

How far is Helvet Green from the beach?

By our measurement, the drive to Santa Amalia beach takes 10 minutes. On foot it is 63 minutes, so for a beach lifestyle you need the car or a bike.

Why does a 3-bedroom apartment at Helvet Green cost the same as a 2-bedroom?

Our data lists a 2-bedroom apartment of 86 m² and a 3-bedroom one of 127 m², both on the first floor for €399,000. That could be a temporary offer or a mistake in the list. We check this with every enquiry.

Do I pay more if I buy Helvet Green through Imagine Marbella?

No. You pay the same price as buying directly from the seller. Through us you also get independent advice, legal guidance and aftercare.

What costs come on top of the price of a new-build home?

In Andalusia, a new build carries 10% VAT (IVA) and 1.2% stamp duty (AJD), plus notary, land registry and lawyer's fees. For the most affordable home in Helvet Green, that adds up to around 13.0%.
