Torremolinos has an image of 1970s mass tourism, but on its western side, towards the border with Málaga, things look different. That is where you find Los Álamos, with a wide beach and a string of new complexes. Habitat Alboran Bora is one of the developments along that stretch. Location
Los Álamos lies on the western side of Torremolinos, where the town gives way to the coastal plain towards Málaga. The development sits barely 3 metres above sea level, just behind the beach. The atmosphere differs from the old centre of Torremolinos: more space, new buildings, beach clubs by the sea. If you want to head to Málaga for museums, restaurants or the high-speed train, you are there in no time, and the airport is almost round the corner. That makes it a practical base if you fly back and forth often.
In practice: Playa de los Álamos is an 8-minute walk away. You reach Málaga airport in 12 minutes by car and Málaga city centre in 16. For groceries you drive 5 minutes to Supermercado La Colina, or walk 28 minutes. Hospital Marítimo de Torremolinos is a 4-minute drive, Benalmádena marina 13 minutes.
