What is Coronado 4?
Coronado 4 offers three exceptional homes in a carefully restored historic building in the lively historic centre of Málaga. These luxury apartments combine contemporary comfort with authentic Andalusian character: original stone walls, exposed timber beams and refined modern finishes create a rare sense of place, just a few steps from the cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the best of the old town. The 19th-century building has been fully renovated into three homes, one per floor.
The three homes
The ground-floor apartment has one bedroom and two bathrooms, ideal for a couple or a single buyer, with an open-plan living and dining room with kitchen island, wooden floors, preserved stone walls and a private terrace. The middle-floor apartment has two spacious bedrooms and two stylish bathrooms, high ceilings with original wooden beams, a large open-plan kitchen with island and plenty of natural light. The penthouse is the showpiece: three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a spectacular private roof terrace with its own plunge pool and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, all with panoramic views.
All the homes have air conditioning for heating and cooling, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, double glazing and an intercom.
Prices and payment in October 2026
As of 1 November 2026, the homes at Coronado 4 are listed with us from €650,000 to €1,550,000. With a new build you pay 10% VAT and 1.2% stamp duty (AJD) on top of the price, plus notary, land registry and legal fees. On buying costs you can work out the total for your own situation.
You pay 1% plus VAT on reservation, 10% plus VAT on signing the purchase contract and the remaining 89% plus VAT on handover of the keys. VAT at 10% applies to the homes. A mortgage is possible.
The location: the historic centre
The Centro Histórico of Málaga is the heart of the city, with the cathedral, the Picasso Museum, Calle Larios, the Atarazanas market hall, squares full of café terraces and the port with the Muelle Uno promenade all within walking distance. La Malagueta beach is a short stroll away, and the airport is just fifteen minutes away.
Living in Málaga
Málaga is the provincial capital and the beating heart of the Costa del Sol: a real city with a historic centre, museums such as the Picasso Museum and the Centre Pompidou, a revamped port with a waterfront promenade, and beaches right in the city. The international airport is a fifteen-minute drive away, and the high-speed train takes you to Madrid in under three hours.
The east of the city, with neighbourhoods such as El Limonar, La Malagueta, Pedregalejo and Cerrado de Calderón, is residential and set between the sea and the hills. The centre appeals to those who want city life, culture and restaurants within walking distance. Málaga is also a growing hub for technology and knowledge, which keeps demand for homes high all year round.
New builds in Málaga are scarce, especially in the city centre and the east of the city. New developments tend to be in the west, around the port and the newer neighbourhoods, or in small, exclusive buildings in the historic centre and along the coast at El Limonar and Pedregalejo. Buying in Málaga means choosing a real city, with culture, gastronomy, work and the whole coast within easy reach.
Why Coronado 4?
A move-in ready luxury home in a restored 19th-century building, with authentic character and every comfort, just steps from the cathedral: Coronado 4 is a rare opportunity in the historic heart of Málaga.
An apartment as a second home
A new apartment is the easiest kind of second home on the Costa del Sol. The garden, pool and communal areas are maintained by the community of owners, so you have nothing to worry about while you're away. With a lift, a parking space and a storage room, you enjoy all the comfort of a new build, along with sunshine almost all year round. If you'd like to let the property while you're not there, check beforehand which licence you need; we'll set out the rules for you.
Enjoy it all year round
The Costa del Sol has one of the mildest climates in Europe, with plenty of sunshine and gentle winters. In summer, life is lived outdoors, around the pool and on the terraces. Autumn and spring bring perfect weather for golf, walking or cycling, and even in winter you'll often have lunch in the sun. Read more in our article on Marbella's microclimate. So a home here isn't just for the holidays, it's one you can enjoy all year round.
How a viewing works
Would you like to see Coronado 4? We'll arrange the viewing around your trip, even at short notice. Beforehand, we'll send you the floor plans, the specification list and a breakdown of the purchase costs, so you arrive well prepared. Once you're here, we'll show you not just the home but also the neighbourhood: the nearest schools and shops, the beach and the golf courses. That way you'll get an immediate feel for everyday life here.
Would you rather meet remotely first? Then we'll set up a video call and go through the plans together. You only decide once you know everything, and we can guide you in Dutch, English, French or Spanish.
Buying off-plan: how it works
With a new build, you first sign a reservation agreement, then a purchase contract with a deposit, and you pay the balance on completion at the notary. Under Spanish law, deposits on new builds must be protected by a bank guarantee or an insurance policy. Always have this checked, along with the building licence and the timeline. We carry out these legal check together with an independent lawyer, and we guide you from the first viewing right through to the handover of the keys, in your own language.
