Bel Air lies on the mountain side of the A-7 on the New Golden Mile, between Cancelada to the west and the golf communities towards Benahavís to the east. For families, Bel Air is one of the most practical addresses on the New Golden Mile. The International School Estepona, a British school for children aged 2 to 12 with a Montessori approach in the early years, is in Pelikan Park on the border with El Paraíso. There are state schools nearby too. The Bel-Air Tennis and Padel Club, founded in 1974 and still family-run, has tennis and padel courts, a fitness room and coaching for children and adults.
Shopping and getting around
A big plus is that everything for daily life is close by. On Avenida de Bel-Air there is a Mercadona with an EV charging point, as well as a Lidl and a Supeco, and a bus stop towards Estepona sits between the supermarkets. The El Paraíso and Los Flamingos golf courses are a few minutes away. The beach and the Senda Litoral are a few minutes by car, Puerto Banús about a quarter of an hour and Estepona town a little less.
Relaxation is close too: on Camino de Brijan, at the edge of the area, the four-star Exe Estepona Thalasso & Spa has a large thalassotherapy centre that is worth knowing about even if you are not staying there. Bel Air also has its own gym and a public basketball court.

Many villas in Bel Air are several decades old, so have a building survey done and check that extensions and pools are legally registered. Homes on the busier avenues or near the supermarkets are more convenient but less quiet. If you buy a plot, ask Estepona town hall exactly what you are allowed to build before you sign.
